Powerful & economic liquid for use in cleaning heavily scaled equipment, where speed and high solvency are critical. Rapidly dissolves limescale and rust. Contains wetting agents to penetrate heavy deposits.

Safe to use with steel, cast iron, copper, brass and most plastics. (Not suitable for stainless steel).

NOT FOR USE ON CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEMS

APPLICATION & USAGE:

Working concentration is typically between 10 and 15% SCALEBREAKER HD in water, by volume. Lower concentrations will require higher water temperatures for maximum descaling effect.

The prepared solution may be used to soak the equipment to be descaled, or the process may be accelerated by vigorous circulation of the acid solution by means of a SCALEBREAKER descaling pump. As limescale is dissolved, carbon dioxide is evolved and descaling may be considered complete when no more gas is given off, even though the SCALEBREAKER solution is still pink (acidic).

If deposits have not been completely removed, and the solution has changed colour to yellow/amber, either add further SCALEBREAKER HD or repeat the cleaning process.

After descaling, drain the SCALEBREAKER solution, neutralise with Kamco NEUTRALISING CRYSTALS and flush the descaled equipment thoroughly with water.

CAUTION: Scalebreaker chemicals, and their solutions, are acidic and, therefore, suitable protective clothing, gloves and goggles should be worn.

When descaling with any acid, there is a possibility of flammable hydrogen gas being evolved, and the working area should be well ventilated. Avoid smoking nearby, or any other means of ignition.
