The efficient system of filtration, the absence of filter cartridge maintenance and replacement, combined with the simplicity of operation of the self-cleaning mode, make the DepuraMatic ideal for installations where water is contaminated with sand, grit, rust and other particulate impurities.
The DepuraMatic uses an innovative cleaning technique in comparison to traditional self cleaning countercurrent filters.
During the self-cleaning process, the orange control head is rotated so that the incoming water is directed down the outside of the filter cartridge. As the head is rotated, a discharge valve at the base of the filter housing is opened, allowing the water to pass rapidly to waste after flowing over the surface of the cartridge. The control head is also coupled to brushes on the exterior of the cartridge, and these are rotated around the mesh as the control head is turned, physically removing residual matter and restoring filter capacity.
With normal levels of contamination in the supply water, no disassembly of the filter housing is required, and the the cartridge does not require replacement.
When carried out on a regular basis, the self cleaning process takes no more than a few minutes.
The DepuraMatic is produced in materials suitable for use with both potable and process waters.
Product installation & instructions for use
DepuraMatic water filters should be installed at the water main supply entry, immediately after the meter, with a by-pass installation before and after the water filter as in diagram A (below), to enable the Depura Matic to be isolated if required.

If the water supply is via a pump, then the pump MUST be located in the supply line before the Depura Matic, and not after.
A drain fitting under the filter is required as in the diagram. Ensure that the flexible tube running to drain does not have any sharp bends or kinks, to prevent water backing up during the self cleaning operation, and escaping from the vent of the drain connection funnel.
Operating instructions:
In order to carry out the self cleaning procedure, simply turn the control head in an anticlockwise direction, as indicated in diagram C (below).
The self cleaning procedure is complete when the bowl is perfectly clear, and the filter cartridge is free from deposits; generally about 10-15 rotations of the control head are required for this operation.
For the best effect, during rotation of the control head, stop for a few seconds with the waste valve in the open position, so that all the loose debris is eliminated.
Once the self cleaning procedure is carried out, return to the normal operating mode by positioning the arrows on the control head in line with the inlet and outlet connections.
The self cleaning procedure should be carried out frequently, at least once every four days, to prevent deposits from thickening and hardening.
If mud or clay are present, the filter should be cleaned every day.
